A truck in Clarendon Hills caught fire after been slammed by a Metra BNSF Train Wednesday morning, The train was traveling at about 75mph and that’s about 4mph slower than the speed limit. Two Adults and a Child pronounced dead at the scene.

According to reports a witness said he saw three people jump from the truck moments before the crash.

Witnesses also told investigators that the car had pulled out of a row of stopped vehicles and was crossing the tracks when it was struck.

The incident has led to service traffic disruptions and Metra warned customers to expect extensive delays.

Metra spokesman Mike Gillis says the gates were working at the time of the Sunday crash.
