Syria’s leader Bashar Assad has confirmed his attendance at the Arab League summit on Friday, following an invitation from King Salman.

The league had recently restored Syria’s membership after a decade of suspension. The league’s chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Saudi Arabia’s top diplomat Prince Faisal bin Farhan expressed their support for Syria’s presence at the summit on Wednesday.
