State media reported today that a Chinese fishing vessel “Lupeng Yuanyu 028” capsized in the Indian ocean on Tuesday with 39 crew members on board.

The crew members, who were 17 Chinese, 17 Indonesians and five Filipinos, were missing. President Xi Jinping ordered that all efforts be made to find survivors and to improve early warning alerts of safety risks for distant-sea operations.
