Four people were wounded early Sunday in a shooting outside a bar in Birmingham, Alabama. One of them is in critical condition. The news agency AP reported that all four shooting victims were taken to UAB Hospital for treatment.

Lt. Ron Harless of the Birmingham Police said that three men and one woman were shot outside Tin Roof, a bar in the Lakeview District of the city, after gunfire was exchanged.

An off-duty Birmingham police officer at the scene reported the shooting around 12:45 a.m.

Police and fire crews arrived and found a man shot inside the bar. A woman with a bullet graze was outside in the parking lot.

They later stopped an SUV that had left the scene. Two men with serious injuries were inside, one of them critically wounded.

Police are investigating the incident.
