Police said that a shooting at a Kansas City, Missouri bar early Sunday (May 21) left two people dead on the spot and a third one died later from their injuries, according to The Associated Press. The identities or names of the five people who were shot were not known right away.

Officer Donna Drake of the Kansas City Police Department emailed a statement that said one of the two injured victims was in critical condition and the other was stable at the hospital. The media report said the shooting happened at 1:25 am (local time) at Klymax Lounge on Indiana Avenue.

Drake said that multiple officers arrived and confirmed that all the victims were adults. She said one person died inside the bar and another outside the building.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were on the scene early Sunday, but no information about the shooter or a potential suspect was available right away.
