The Bahamas’ Aircraft Accident Investigation according to ABC News reported that five people survived a private plane crash into waters near the Bahamas on Thursday.
The flight was heading to Florida when it ended up in the water about 10 nautical miles north of Andros, a Bahamian island, the Royal Bahamas Police Force announced during a press conference Thursday.
Volunteer Pilot Group, a Florida-based group that links volunteer pilots with passengers who need them and said it had organized the flight, said there were two pilots and three passengers on the plane.
Authorities said they rescued all five and brought them back to Andros Island. They are being taken to get medical treatment for injuries that are not life-threatening, authorities said.
