US Vice President Kamala Harris announced today a new package of assistance for the Caribbean region, aimed at strengthening democracy, security, and economic development.

The assistance includes $75 million to support civil society and independent media, $12 million to combat human trafficking and corruption, and $15 million to promote clean energy and climate resilience.

Harris said the assistance reflects the US commitment to partnering with the Caribbean on shared challenges and opportunities.

She also praised the Caribbean’s leadership in advancing regional integration and cooperation, as well as its contributions to global peace and security.
