The White House has announced new measures to protect the LGBTQ community from the attacks of the GOP, which have intensified in recent months.

The Biden administration will appoint a coordinator to deal with the increasing number of school book bans that target LGBTQ and civil rights content, as part of a broader effort that involves multiple federal agencies.

The administration will also provide a $1.7 million grant for mental health services for LGBTQ youth, who face discrimination and violence in many states.

Additionally, the administration will launch a new initiative to address LGBTQ youth homelessness, and ensure that LGBTQ youth in foster care have access to affirming resources.

President Biden said that he stands with the LGBTQ community and will defend their rights and safety from the “hateful” and “prejudiced” bills that have been passed or proposed by Republicans in various states.
