At least three people have lost their lives and several others have been injured after severe storms hit parts of China over the weekend.

The storms brought heavy rain, strong winds and hail to provinces such as Guangdong, Hunan and Jiangxi.

The rain caused widespread flooding and landslides, damaging houses, roads and crops. The authorities have issued flood warnings for some rivers and reservoirs, and urged residents to take precautions and avoid outdoor activities.

The storms are expected to continue until Monday, according to the China Meteorological Administration.
