SCOTLAND: On Friday, June 9th, 2023, the Royal Regiment of Scotland marched through the town of Dumfries to celebrate their freedom of the region.
The regiment, which was formed in 2006 by merging several historic Scottish infantry battalions, received this honor from Dumfries and Galloway Council in 2008.
The parade consisted of military bands, the Color Party and Guards, and was joined by members of the Royal British Legion. Hundreds of people lined the streets to watch and cheer the soldiers, who proudly represented Scotland’s heritage and professionalism.
The parade started at the car park of DG One and lasted for about an hour, passing through various landmarks of the town.
The event also featured exhibitions from the regimental museum and Help for Ukraine, a charity that supports wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
