Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Paris on Tuesday for a three-day visit that includes talks with French President Emmanuel Macron and participation in a global summit on education.

The prince’s visit comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing international scrutiny over his human rights record.

The prince and Macron are expected to discuss regional issues such as Iran’s nuclear program, the war in Yemen, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as bilateral cooperation on trade, culture, and security.

The prince will also attend the Global Partnership for Education summit on Thursday, where he will pledge $100 million to support education for girls and refugees in developing countries.
