A gunman shot and killed three brothers, all young boys, and injured their mother in Ohio, officials said on Thursday.
A 3-year-old, a 4-year-old and a 7-year-old were shot at their Monroe Township home, according to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office. A female caller screamed that “her babies had been shot” around 4:15 p.m., authorities said.
A female juvenile ran down the road and told a passerby who called 911 that “her father was killing everyone,” authorities said minutes later.
Sheriff’s deputies found 32-year-old Chad Doerman on a step outside a home in the 1900 block of Laurel Lindale Road.
The three boys died at the scene from gunshot wounds in a yard. Life-saving measures failed. Their mother, 34, had a gunshot wound to the hand and was outside the home.
She went to a hospital and found out there that her sons were dead. Doerman, 32, was on a step outside a home in the 1900 block of Laurel Lindale Road when investigators detained him and took him to the sheriff’s office for an interview.
Authorities did not reveal if Doerman was related to the children and said there was no forced entry at the home and no suspects were being sought.
