Kylian Mbappe, the star striker of Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team, arrived in Cameroon on Thursday for a four-day visit. The 24-year-old, who was born in Paris to a Cameroonian father and an Algerian mother, said he wanted to reconnect with his roots and support some humanitarian projects in the country.

On Friday, Mbappe visited the National Football Academy in Yaounde, where he interacted with young players and coaches. He also donated some equipment and jerseys to the academy. He then traveled to Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, where he inaugurated a school built by his foundation, Mbappe Inspires.

The school, which can accommodate up to 300 children from disadvantaged backgrounds, aims to provide quality education and vocational training. Mbappe said he hoped the school would help the children achieve their dreams and contribute to the development of Cameroon.

On Saturday, Mbappe attended a friendly match between two local teams at the Japoma Stadium in Douala. He also played for a few minutes with each team, scoring two goals and delighting the fans. He then gave a speech, in which he thanked the people of Cameroon for their warm welcome and their support.

He said he felt at home in Cameroon and that he was happy to share his passion for football with them. He also said he was inspired by the legendary Cameroonian players, such as Roger Milla, Samuel Eto’o and Rigobert Song, who paved the way for him and many others.

On Sunday, Mbappe will wrap up his visit by attending a gala dinner organized by his foundation, where he will raise funds for some social causes in Cameroon. He will also meet with some local celebrities and influencers, who will help him promote his foundation’s activities.
