Police arrested a man who climbed one of the tallest buildings in London without any safety gear.

The man was seen by witnesses as he ascended the Leadenhall Building, also known as the “Cheesegrater”, on Friday morning.

The building is 225 meters (738 feet) high and one of the landmarks of the city.

The man reached the roof, where he was met by officers and taken into custody.

City of London Police Chief Inspector Tom Fisher said: “We have detained a man for aggravated trespass after he scaled the Leadenhall building in the city.”
