Cassie, the singer who was Sean “Diddy” Combs’ girlfriend from 2007 to 2018, has filed a lawsuit against the rapper in federal court and claimed he raped and abused her.

The lawsuit said Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, “suffered over a decade of his violent acts and twisted demands” and was stuck “in a cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking.” Combs is charged with raping Cassie, hitting her “often,” and making her do sex acts with male sex workers while he watched and recorded them, among other “violent and illegal acts.”

The lawsuit also said Combs threatened to blow up Kid Cudi’s car because of Cassie’s relationship with the rapper, and “around that time, Kid Cudi’s car blew up in his driveway.” Cassie met Combs in 2005 when she was 19 and Combs, then 37, signed her to his label.

A lawyer for Combs said he “strongly denies these insulting and outrageous claims” and said Cassie was “clearly blackmailing” him. The New York Times, Deadline
